With nearly 50 years of in-depth experience in radar, electronic warfare, military communications and sonar, Dean Carhoun brings a broad engineering perspective to the ONYX team. His focus in these related disciplines is the development, application and implementation of innovative signal processing techniques. He has held increasingly responsible technical and management positions over the years, including principal investigator on applied research programs and the formation and leadership of interdisciplinary technology groups. His recent endeavors include development of techniques for improvised explosive device (IED) defeat, physics-based simulation of ground penetrating radar for virtual training of landmine-detection specialists, development of innovative processing of precision inertial navigation sensor signals, and processing of auscultation signals for cardiovascular diagnostic screening. Dean has published extensively and is an active member of IEEE, AIAA, ION and SPIE.
